19.11.2009 - The World Triathlon Corporation launches top athletes' program to provide support for the new anti-doping initiative.
The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) goes new ways in fighting the doping abuse. What remains desirable in other sports has become reality in triathlon. Not long ago, the WTC has launched a new anti-doping initiative by which the professional athletes as well as the best amateurs might be tested in their trainings following the random sampling principle as well as on the competition day. The tests will be coordinated by independent organizations such as the WADA and the national anti-doping agencies.
The IRONMAN SWITZERLAND, powered by ewz, of July 25, 2009 in Zurich has been booked up. There are still places left at the IRONMAN Regensburg (GER) one week later (August 1st, 2009). Regensburg is close to Zurich, 400 km northeast ways, and will provide all athletes a memorable and unique IRONMAN-event.

01.09.2009 - New date: IRONMAN SWITZERLAND is now on the 25th of July 2010
Due to several construction sites, the transfer of the “Züri-Fäscht” (Zurich feast) on the competition site “Landiwiese Zurich” and other unexpected difficulties in relation with the 1st of August (national holiday), the organizer had to reschedule the date of the competition of the 14th IRONMAN SWITZERLAND, powered by ewz, to the 25th of July, 2010 (instead of August 1st, 2010).
The finishs of the contest are finally up for vote. View the best five and vote for your favourite finish until September 30th, 2009. The athlete with the most votes will win a starting place for the IRONMAN SWITZERLAND 2010. There will be no correspondence on the contest. The winner will be notified in writing.

Over 2,000 athletes from 45 different nations have already registered for the 14th IRONMAN SWITZERLAND in Zurich. Are you interested in statistics? Although the registration is open only one week over 1'400 athletes have already registered for the IRONMAN SWITZERLAND, powered by ewz on the 1st of August 2010.
13.07.2009 - Ronnie Schildknecht realizes the Triple, Sibylle Matter repeats her last year's win.
After 8:20.00,4 hours the winner of the 13th IRONMAN SWITZERLAND 2009 was determined: Already for the third consecutive time, Ronnie Schildknecht (Thalwil, SUI) won the IRONMAN SWITZERLAND. His team colleague Stefan Riesen (SUI) has got rank two after a thrilling catch-up run in 8:31.10,5. The German Abel Torsten occupied the third rank (8:36.38,6).
09.06.2009 - Double Swiss victory at the IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND
2'200 athletes from 49 nations started today at the third IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND 2009 in Rapperswil-Jona. The favourite and titleholder Ronnie Schildknecht has been able to catch up with the spearhead after only 10 km and get a lead of nearly 4 over rank two Mike Aigroz. With a solid race, he was able to get his way against a world class block and celebrated his third victory (3:54.30,1). As for the women, the short distance specialist Sarah Schütz from Dübendorf won the race (4:28.26,8). The favourite Karin Thürig caught up brilliantly in the bike race until rank three and also showed a strong performance in the run race (4:.35.03,3).
